about americorps

Hello,

My name is Kristen Sayers and I have been serving with Blue Mt. Action Council AmeriCorps since 2006 - first as a Team Member and currently as the Project Supervisor. Each year, it is wonderful to see individuals called to serve, entering our community with the sole purpose of creating positive change, and empowering others to become actively involved. As the BMAC AmeriCorps project supervisor, I am dedicated to civic engagement and role modeling a life of service.

In Service,
Kristen Sayers
BMAC AmeriCorps Project Supervisor

Since 1994, BMAC AmeriCorps has been known for “Getting Things Done” in the Walla Walla Valley in partnership with Blue Mt. Action Council. Blue Mt. Action Council (BMAC), one of a number of Community Action Programs in Washington State, is a private, nonprofit, multipurpose agency, serving residents in Southeastern Washington. For more information on BMAC,
visit their website: bmacww.org

Each year, thirty-four team members embark on an empowering service journey focusing on education, public safety, human needs, and the environment.

From tutoring low performing elementary students, mentoring high-risk youth, providing environmental education to our community, organizing struggling neighborhoods and recruiting local volunteers, BMAC AmeriCorps is passionate about creating positive change.

Defined as a domestic Peace Corps, over 60,000 hours of volunteer service is devoted to the Walla Walla community through the dedication of our AmeriCorps Team Members, joined by hundreds of local volunteers.
